About Us
My name is Bruce Segovis. I was born in a small town in upstate New York where woodworking was a part of life. The skills I learned as a young man have held my interest throughout my life.
My first career after completing a four year hitch in the submarine service was as a Technician for Xerox Corporation. Twenty one years of that pretty much burned me out and in 1985, my wife and I started the construction of a thirty six foot sail boat. Three years later, we set sail and lived on the boat exploring the California waters, Mexico, Costa Rica, through the Panama Canal and Florida.
We dropped anchor in Florida and I spent the next twenty years working in the boating industry. My work included designing and building interiors for high performance boats, finishing the teak trim work for sail boats and repair work on large power yachts.
I set up a small shop and I have spent the past three years building woodcrafts that include jewelry boxes, trinket boxes, display boxes, incense boxes, pet urns and an assortment of custom projects.
I do all my own work and every project is lovingly hand crafted from the finest domestic and exotic woods, finished in acrylic, lacquer, oil, or left natural. The acrylic or lacquer items are finished with at least 4 coats of high gloss polyurethane or lacquer. Most pieces can be lined with a velvet insert and is included free of charge.
